Rachel Morgan Reading at Final Thursday

L&L's Rachel Morgan will be having a book release reading for her poetry collection Honey & Blood, Blood & Honey. This thematic chapbook uses poetry to explore the historical and personal experience of type 1 diabetes in a series of carefully wrought and emotionally evocative poems. Morgan will be the featured reader at the Final Thursday Reading Series on February 23 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hearst Center for the Arts in Cedar Falls.

The evening begins with open mic signup begins at 7:00 p.m. The open mic begins at 7:15. Creative writers are invited to bring five minutes of original poetry, fiction, or creative non-fiction to share. Singer-songwriters are also welcome to utilize the Hearst Center’s grand piano. Morgan takes the stage at 8:00. There will be a short question and answer period as time allows. Copies of Honey & Blood, Blood & Honey will be available for purchase.  The Final Thursday Reading Series is a collaboration of Final Thursday Press, the Hearst Center for the Arts, and the University of Northern Iowa College of Humanities, Arts & Sciences.
