Lucy Fitzgerald, Austin Hall, John Toenjes

It's everything you always wanted to know about podcasts but were afraid to ask. UNI English alumni return to campus to talk about how they got started in podcasting and what it takes to make a podcast successful. This roundtable discussion features the following graduates of the UNI English program:

- Lucy Fitzgerald is one of three co-hosts of the True Crime/Comedy podcast, Wine & Crime, which New York magazine named one of the best True Crime podcasts. Lucy covers the background and psychology portion of each episode.

- Austin Hall is the creator, writer, producer, and host of The ICTE Podcast — the official podcast of The Iowa Council of Teachers of English. This quarterly podcast was created to advance ICTE's mission of facilitating deep connections and professional learning for English/Language Arts teachers of all stages.

- John Toenjes is the host of the This Is Not For You podcast, a page-per-episode analysis of the cult novel, House of Leaves. It attempts to break down the multiple narrative layers and explores media related to the book and its author, Mark Z. Danielewski.

This event is sponsored by the UNI Department of Languages & Literatures, the English Club & the UNI Council of Teachers of English (UNICoTE). Support for this event also is provided by the Class of 1957 Heritage Endowment Fund and the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs.
