Fearful Summary: What Northrop Frye’s Scholarship has Taught Me so Far


Koch suggests how the works of literary critic Northrop Frye, especially his first book Fearful Symmetry, have influenced his engagement with literature and with intellectual challenges of liberal education.  He feels that Fearful Symmetry provides incoming college students with a template of the major intellectual issues that they should face while in liberal education, though today’s college curriculum rarely confronts them with these issues.
